WEvo Team Running Women’s 10K in Glasgow

Many months ago four members of Team WEvo, Eleanor, Marion, Lorna and Julie, all agreed to run the Women’s 10K in Glasgow. When Scottish Women in Business (SWIB) chose WEvolution as their charity for the year, members of Team WEvo  felt it would be good to help contribute to the funds and madly agreed to participate in the 10K. Apart from raising funds for WEvolution through the Great Women’s Run, SWIB has hosted other fundraising events including a special Christmas raffle.

Leading up to the event, the enthusiastic group of four have been trying to follow a training plan  that includes practise interval walking and running to build up their stamina. For some, this disciplined practice has proved more successful for some than  others. Julie, the instigator of it all, explains that she will find “any excuse not to go out for a run: too hot, too cold, too busy.” Eleanor echoes that same sentiment explaining that any drop of rain puts her off her training plan. With only two weeks until the big day, Team WEvo still remains committed but they are not sure how well they will do. However, they are confident of one thing: they will complete the course regardless of time!  (Don’t worry- We will let you know the results!)

The run is on Sunday 5th  June starting at Kevin Way, running around the Westend and finishing at Kelvingrove Park from 10.00am. Come along and cheer us on. If you would like please do sponsor us to help raise funds for WEvolution.
