WEvolution opens New Hubs
This past month WEvolution opened new hubs in Inverclyde and Renfrewshire. These spaces are designed to connect existing SRGs, giving them a safe and inspiring place to explore their skills and develop their products. Additionally these hubs act as attracting spaces drawing individuals from the communities into a creative environment to learn more about the SRG movement. Anne Donaghy, Five Mummies Make SRG Member, explains more about the hub’s purpose as she sees it, “it is a welcoming, informal friendly place, for learning new skills, meeting new friends, and potential for developing more business skills with no obligation whatsoever.” The new hub in Johnstone enables groups “to have space outside the home to meet and do crafts”, says Karen from the Alpacas SRG. Over the next year WEvolution is looking to create more permanent operating spaces that will be open five days a week to accommodate the aspirations of all those using the hubs.
