Glasgow News: The SRGs have been busier than Santa’s elves on the run up to Christmas making their products in time for the holiday sales, which is why it is no surprise that the WEvolution stall at the Glasgow Charities Christmas Fayre was a huge success. GCVS and the Glasgow City Chambers hosted over fifty charities at the city centre location on the 15th of November. The whole day was full of festivities with carol singers, holiday food and plenty of Christmas jumpers in sight. Six SRGS were represented and had made products for the stall which raised over £200 and our very own Karen Stevens from Alpacas SRG even bagged herself three commissions for her crocheted mermaid tails. It was a fantastic day all round but don’t be too sad if you missed it, as you are still able to buy products in plenty of time for 2017 by visiting out Etsy store at https://www.etsy.com/shop/WEvolution
Dundee’s Pop Up Christmas Market
Blokes R Us SRG, Candy Cart SRG, Crafty Chicks SRG and W.E. Makers & Bakers SRG all came together with social enterprise MAXcrafts to host what turned out to be a very busy market stall on 18th and 19th November. From Magic Reindeer Food to Hand Dyed Yarn, there was something for everyone.
Everyone had a great time in spite of the freezing temperatures and the SRGs all displayed an amazing amount of team work and generosity of spirit throughout.
Each and every person involved can be every proud of themselves and their SRG.
5 Mummies Make held their Christmas Tea Party which was a great success with a fantastic tea, stalls to buy presents and money raised for a local charity. Many SRGs were making and selling at schools and events. Gifts from Inverclyde I am sure will be appearing in Santa’s sacks this year. 2016 has been a great success for new and existing groups in Inverclyde and 2017 looks very exciting with new products and businesses.
